Untitled Watercolor and Collage Painting by the late Mamie Harrison
This work by the late Mamie Harrison is both watercolor painting and collage. It is for sale as I continue to find new homes for nice art. Mamie was an accomplished Dunedin artist who enjoyed working in a variety of media and styles, working in collage and watercolor, acrylic and oil paint. Her work was often abstract on paper or canvas, each painting having a distinct color palette. This artwork appears to be watercolor, acrylic and collage on watercolor paper.
Mamie’s extensive travels in North America, Europe and Russia fostered her interest in art. I had the privilege of installing her work in several exhibitions at the Dunedin Fine Art Center, including a solo show where I recall her art selling well.
The painting is in excellent condition and the frame is very good aside from some minor scuffing. The framing and backing are heavily built.

My late wife Nancy and I were close to Mamie and her late husband, Dr. Everett Harrison M.D., a prominent local physician, for many years. The artist was committed to the community and was a co-founder of Studio 1212 in Clearwater, Past President of the Dunedin Youth Guild, Past President of the Florida Artists’ Group and served on various boards of non-profit organizations. Mamie was elected by the City’s Committee on Aging to the Dunedin Senior Hall of Fame in 2002. She passed away in 2007.

"Cadillac Ranch" Photographic Prints:
from Photographer Bud Lee's Original Transparencies
from Photographer Bud Lee's Original Transparencies
These are photographs produced from the original transparencies by the late, legendary photojournalist and artist Bud Lee. Bud loaned two of his transparencies to me in 1999 with permission to have these prints made for the Dunedin Fine Art Center's "Wheels: Artists and Automobiles" exhibit in 2000 - 2001. Lee made these images in 1974 while he was working for Esquire Magazine with Diane Arbus at the time that "Cadillac Ranch" was installed outside of Amarillo, TX. Both are in excellent condition and the mats and metal frames are very good.
Lee regarded himself as an artist and is remembered as a major influence on the establishment of the Tampa Bay arts community. He received a National Endowment for the Arts grant and began the Artist Filmmaker in the Schools program in Tampa. Lee founded the Artists and Writers Trust, the Florida Photographer's Workshop and co-founded the annual Artists and Writers Ball. He died in 2015 at 74.

Bud Lee’s career included work for Vogue, Esquire, the New York Times and many other publications. His accomplishments include being recognized as the Military Photographer of the Year by the National Press Photographers Association and becoming a Life Magazine Photographer of the Year.
My photos of the artworks do not convey the excellence and condition of both photographs. The clarity of the larger photograph is evidence of the capabilities of the 35 mm. format and to Bud Lee’s technical skills.

Untitled Miniature Art Painting by Joyce Rowsell (SOLD)
This painting of an old English country home in beautifully painted atmosphere and detail was exhibited and purchased at a Miniature Art Society of Florida exhibition at the Dunedin Fine Art Center, Dunedin, Florida in the mid-1990’s. The painting within the frame is 4 ¼ inches wide x 3 ½ inches high. The late British artist, Joyce Rowsell, was known for the excellence of her oil on silk miniature paintings with favorite subjects being landscapes, portraits, British classic automobiles and 18th century English architecture, an area of study paired with 17th Century Baroque Painting for her History of Art Degree from London University.
Joyce Rowsell joined the Hilliard Society of Wells in Somerset thirty-four years ago, becoming President of the internationally acclaimed society in 2015. She received over 100 prizes and awards for her miniature work from Societies and Galleries in England and the USA and was elected a ‘Miniature Artist of America’ in 2006. Rowsell was a full member of the Royal Miniature Society and was listed in Who’s Who in Art in 1996. She passed away in March of 2020.
My late wife Nancy Iater received the painting as a gift and the tag on the back of the painting with its title and price was removed. The only other Joyce Rowsell miniature painting I find currently on the market is listed at $895. Examples of the artist’s work can be seen at http://leeminiaturecollection.com/collection-joyce-rowsell.html, or by googling Images of Joyce Rowsell.

Miniature art was instituted in the 16th Century and miniature paintings later became popular, among those who could afford it, as keepsake images of religious subjects or loved ones who were separated for long periods of time. Photography would later become a much cheaper alternative.

"Tender Tie Up" Miniature Art Painting by Jan Borgner (SOLD)
above: Closeup view of the watercolor. Actual size of the painting is 4 x3/4", frame width 9"
I knew the late Jan Borgner, a resident of Dunedin, FL and Ohio, through her participation at the Dunedin Fine Art Center and remember her work as a member and exhibitor with the Miniature Art Society of Florida at DFAC, where she exhibited her oil and watercolor paintings. Jan passed away two years ago. This miniature watercolor, Tender Tie Up, is a fine example of her painting and composition talents and was originally priced in the early to mid-90’s at $285. This watercolor is for sale at $100. The artist's signature is visible at lower right.
Her obituary stated, “Janice was an award-winning self-taught artist and well known in Ohio and Florida for her sharp focus realism oil and watercolor paintings. Janice enjoyed showing her paintings at many galleries throughout Florida and Ohio. She was a certified miniature artist and was immensely proud to have one of her miniature paintings on display at the Smithsonian Museum”.

Graphic View II 4 x 5" Large Format Camera (SOLD)
I am selling this 4 x 5 Graphic View II that I have had for at least 20 years and never used. It has stayed in its case and from everything I can see now, it is about as perfect as it could be. It is my hope that this camera will find its way to one of the die – hard photographers who still work in film and in the darkroom.
Folmer Graflex Corporation began production of the Graphic View camera in 1941, its look being starkly different than the classic wooden view cameras of the time with its all-metal, gray painted, art deco look. The Graphic View and Graphic View II use the distinctive inverted V-rail which carries a tripod mount and allows the camera to be stored upside-down in its Vulcanoid carrying case.
According to a Graflex.org article, Graflex: The View Cameras – The Graphic View, by Gerald Pierce, “The Graphic View camera has base tilts on both standards. The front standard has rise and fall (3 5/8") by operation of a locking rack and pinion mechanism. Both standards shift 5/8" either way, and tilt 26 degrees either way. Both standards also swing 12 degrees.”
Following is a list of pieces:
1 – Graphic View II w/tripod head
1 – Original “Vulcanoid” carrying case
1 – Graphex f 4.7 / 127 mm lens
1 – Schneider – Kreuznach 1:6.8 / 90 mm lens
4 – 4 x 5” film holders
1 – Short Cable Release
1 – Graphic II Instruction Manual
1 – Carson Loupe
1 – Film Loading Bag
1 – Photographer’s Dark Cloth Hood
Condition: Excellent
Materials: Metal, Glass
Price: $195 (negotiable)

I have always really liked this painting. Michaels is a well-known area painter and pop-art artist whose acclaim was at a high in the 80's and 90's. His work came in sizes small to multi-canvas wall-sized works. I worked with him on a few exhibitions through the Dunedin Fine Art Center.

Bede Clark Ceramic "Rice Bowl"
“…For me good pots are not defined by a technique but most often by a healthy balance of energy/wildness and restraint/firmness. I have always thought pots are a lot like people.”
- Bede Clark
Bede Clark is highly regarded as a ceramic artist and has exhibited extensively nationwide and internationally. I was privileged to exhibit and sell his work on a few occasions at the Dunedin Fine Art Center when he still lived in Pinellas County. He has been a Professor of Art at the University of Missouri since 1992.
This Korean inspired primitive rice bowl was a demo piece purchased from his workshop at the Dunedin Fine Art Center long ago.

Hamilton Drafting / Artist's Table - ca. 1940 (SOLD)
I have owned this beautiful antique drawing table since 1985 when I purchased it from a friend. It is in original, unrestored condition showing some wear that can only be described as the attractive patina of age and use. It looks much as it did when I purchased it as I have been careful about covering it when painting and drawing. It traveled from Gulfport to South Pasadena, to Yuma AZ back to South Pasadena, to Dunedin, FL to Greenville, NC and back to Dunedin. The top can lay flat or be angled up. It breaks down completely in a logical and simple manner - I used to do it by myself.
